Hello, I'm Amity.

I'm a young creative with a fascination for nature, and I love to combine the two through photography! My creative ventures have never been half-hearted. I have loved everything from drawing to poetry, and always feel at my best when I'm making something.

I've been doing hobbyist photography for years, but was gifted my first DSLR camera in Jan 2024. I started taking portraits of dogs through my sister's dog grooming business in July, and expanding to people portraits soon after.

I also dabble in videography and 35mm film photography (pictured: my vintage Pentax MG).

I love rain, thunderstorms, the moon, sunsets... if it's in the sky, I love it. It is my dream to one day see the Aurora Australis, and of course capture photos of the event.

The biggest question I asked myself when I started this was; would I choose this photographer for myself and those I love?

Being a more introverted person who values her privacy, I would find it hard to trust a stranger with such personal aspects of my life. It's not that we don't want photos of ourselves and our loved ones, we just don't know a way to make it comfortable.

The goal of my services is to allow everyone the chance to experience high quality photos of these fleeting times in our lives, even if you are a little camera shy. You're not here to perform for the camera. I will help you look and feel human.

Together, we will explore your vision, each step involving you. My services are a project rather than a product, which means you are more than just a client to me.
Freezing movement. Embracing authenticity. Long-lasting sentiments.
Creating photos for the individuals in them.
- FAQs -
Q: What should I expect from a booking with you?
A: To ensure trust on both sides, I will at minimum organise a pre-shoot call with you to get familiar with each other and make sure we "click". This can be done before or after booking. We can create an album/Pinterest board to gather ideas.
On the day of the shoot, we will meet at a specified time at the location. We will take a few minutes before we start shooting to settle into our surroundings and get inspired. I will offer simple guidance and prompts to help you look natural, without being overbearing. It will be okay to take breathers between shots or pause look at our ideas album, and I'll encourage you to tell me any particular photos you want.
For smaller sessions, photos will be delivered to you through Google Drive for download. For larger sessions, your gallery will be delivered to you through a professional website that will allow downloads and also print orders.
Q: What do you want us to wear for the session?
A: I'm happy to offer advice on clothing for the session if you need, in fact I like to know what you will be wearing! Generally I encourage you to wear something comfortable and easy to move around in. I recommend going for simple, solid colours that will not blend into the background (eg. green dress in a forest setting). It doesn't need to be at all formal, just clean and tidy. I also don't expect you to wear makeup - I actually encourage you not to (if you prefer)!
Q: What is your process of editing photos?
A: My photo editing is a huge part of what I do. I'm continually educating myself on colour theory and experimenting with editing software to further advance in post-production. I correct exposure levels to maximise detail in the photo and ensure it looks how our eyes view the scene. Followed by my style of colour correction which focuses on enhancing colours that are already present and retaining the beauty of the real moment. Leaning into vibrant and warm tones, and soft luminance.
Q: Do you edit out blemishes?
A: I use my own discretion when it comes to blemishes. Generally, I believe in allowing things to be how they are. In the case of temporary blemishes such as scratches/pimples I am happy to remove if you want, however please allow for extra turn-around time. I do not offer extensive retouching as part of my services, and I will never alter body shapes or natural features.
Q: What about when it comes to social media?
A: For most sessions, I will feature highlights from your gallery on my social media pages unless you request that I keep them private. Which is absolutely okay, and I completely understand! There is no charge for keeping them private.
You have complete freedom to share the photos on your personal social media, but I would really love it if you could credit me in posts. I rely on word of mouth so much for finding new people to work with, so it helps me out a lot.
Q: What if there is bad weather?
A: Sun is not essential for beautiful photos, overcast days can be just as lovely! But I understand sometimes sunlight is part of the style we are going for, so we can reschedule at no penalty to you.
